The gym pool is a public place. And if everyone agreed to follow a few simple rules, we’d all have a much nicer time there.
Let’s go over these aforementioned rules of pool etiquette:
Rinse Off Before You Enter the Pool
Nobody wants to swim in a pool full of mostly water and a bit of your sweat.
It’s not just sweat either. It’s make-up, cosmetics, lotions, dead skin, dirt…
And anything else that could be lying on the surface of your skin.
Do Not Wear a Swimsuit that is Too Small
Nobody wants to see inappropriate body parts falling out at the pool.
So please, out of kindness to your peers, wear an appropriate bathing suit. Preferably one that covers all of your private parts.
Put the Kick board back Where You Got It
It isn’t cool to leave equipment around after you get it out. There are two reasons why. First, somebody has to pick that up eventually. If it’s not gonna be you, who’s it gonna be?Second, it is kind of a safety hazard to have tons of items lying around the slippery periphery of the pool.
So please, have some courtesy and pick up after yourself.
Don’t String Your stuff Across the Entire pool
This goes back to the previous section a little bit. Please pick up after yourself. There isn’t usually a ton of space around the pool.
If you sprawl out your entire gym bag, towel, robe, flip-flops and other swim paraphernalia, then someone else barely has room to put down one towel.
So, don’t be a hog. Share the space, please!
Underwater Audio
Who used to get bored swimming laps back and forth with nothing but their thoughts to amuse them? Did the time seem to go by slower than slow?
Well, now things can be different!
All you need is a Waterproof iPod Shuffle by Underwater Audio and your swim will go by so fast, you won’t know what hit you. Trust me, you want one. It makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable!
