The 5 Best Pointers for Triathlon Training!

Running a triathlon is no joke. It takes a lot of time and training to get your body up to the shape it needs to be in. It can be overwhelming and you may be wondering where you can start, and what will give you the best edge to win. Well thank goodness you have me. Here are a few Triathlon training tips that will help you out.

Maybe we should practice

So, there are many things to practice when preparing for a triathlon, swimming, biking, and running for instance.
But, one thing that you may forget is to practice your transitions from swimming to biking, and biking to running.
You are being timed for this, so working on changing your gear can help to give you an edge in your race.

STudy the course

When training for Triathlon you should find out what the course for that race is going to be. The reason for this is so you can plan. When laying out a strategy, find a way to run as many straight lines as possible. If you follow the road or trail you can end up running farther then you need to. Try to just run the tops of the curves so you are running in a more-or-less  straight line.

What lies ahead

When training for your triathlon find out what type of course you are going to be facing.
Find out as much as you can. Find out things like: will you be climbing on the bike or run portion, or will you be on roads or trails?
Also will you be swimming in a river or in a pool? Once your know whats ahead for you can start training using the same kind of conditions.
If all you have trained on is roads and the race is on trails and its all climb, well then, you wont be very prepared.
So, as my middle school English teacher would say “Study, Test, Win!”

“i will take naps for $200”

One of the most important things that you can do while training for a triathlon is to give your body a rest.
While you are sleeping, your body does the most repair work on your muscles.
So, get a good nights sleep and take at least one or two days off each week so your body can recover.
Hurting yourself and pushing to hard can land you on the side of the road cheering, and no racer wants that, so take it easy when you need to.

feet to the beat

Swimming, biking, and running all have one thingfb profile picture in common, and that is that they are all pace driven sports.
But it is often hard to keep the pace you want so here is a trick to help you. music!
Use the beat to set your pace and keep you going. I recommend using an Underwater Audio waterproof iPod shuffle.
Its small and it can stay with you for your whole race so you never loose the pace you want.

run for it

So run hard and use these tricks and tips to help you get where you want to go. The winners’ circle! If you have any other tips or ticks then please leave them in the comment section below.
