There is a repeating theme in the thoughts that run through my head after swimming laps at the pool.
Some of the thoughts I am sure you will be able to relate to. Unless I’m crazy. Which is highly possible. So, I’ve just gotten out of the pool and it goes a little something like this:
1. “I rock at swimming.”
If I were a shark, I’d be the fastest one. And everyone knows it. I totally killed that workout.
2. “I have to pee! Right now!”
It is the worst to have to pee mid swim and get all dry and go to the bathroom and then get back in. That’s why I usually try to hold it. So peeing is often one of the first things on my mind.
3. “Do I rinse off now or at home?”
Immediately after I finish my laps, I’m usually eager to get out of there and go home. But wouldn’t it be better to rinse off now and give your suit a nice rinse too?
Before everything starts to dry all chlorine-ish? I’ll leave that up to you.
4. “How Pale Am I?”
This is actually not one of my thoughts. But my wife comments on this frequently after a trip to the pool. Indoor swimming in Oregon has a way of making a person feel particularly pale.
5. “I need a hamburger. And a massage. And a nap.”
In that order.
Enough said.
6. “I’m going to feel this later.”
And then again later.
And then again some more after that.
And then more later on after that. Forever.
7. “My body looks better than an hour ago!”
It seems to work that fast. It also probably has something to do with our muscles still being warmed up.
8. “Must find foam roller.”
That foam roller has become like a second child to me.
9. “Praise the tech Gods for my Waterproof iPod Shuffle.”
Underwater Audio, I could not have done it without you! You came to the rescue again with an awesome playlist to fuel my swim.
What Are Your Post Workout Thoughts?
What do you frequently find yourself saying after a swim? We’d love to hear it! It’s kinda hilarious to talk about, right?
